This ancient Chinese healing art is essentially a painless, minimally invasive technique that employs the insertion of fine, sterilized, disposable needles into specific points on body pathways through which energy, or qi, flows. TCM views disease as the result of an imbalance, or blockage of the body’s energy flow. The insertion, as well as the gentle manipulation of the needle, promotes the production and movement of qi, increasing deficiencies and dispersing blockages, thereby restoring balance and boosting the immune system.
